What is eDistrict UP Scheme?
e District UP is a part of the central government eDistrict Mission Mode Project (MMP) which is implemented by the Centre for eGovernance (CeG), Uttar Pradesh, and providing various services to consumers through online mode and common service centers available in the state.
As per the edistrict project, there must be a citizen service center in every district at Tehsil, sub-division, and, block level. All people can apply for various types of certificates, licenses, pensions, etc through the online portal and citizen service center.

How to search Common Service Centers?
If you want to apply for any service through a Common service center then you can search the service center through the E District UP portal. Please check the below-given steps to find a service center.
Step 1: Open the official website edistrict.up.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage of the official website click the service centre link available in the top menu. A new window will appear on the screen including a CSC center search form (as shown below).
Step 3: Now you can search CSC centres by two methods.
- Pin code
1-Search by Pin Code: Select the pin code option, enter the pin code of your address, and click the show button. You will see a list of all common service centers nearest to that pin code.
In this list you can find the nearest service centre and apply for any service by visiting there.
2-Search by Area: You can also search by entering your area name. Select the area option. A new search form will appear on the screen (as shown below).
In this search form select DSP, District, Tehsil, and Block. After that click the Show button. A list of all CSC centers will be displayed on the screen.
You can download this list also in an excel format in your device.

How to apply online for different services?
All citizens can apply online for income, caste, domicile certificates, licenses, and pension, etc services. For this Uttar Pradesh government has launched an esathi portal which is integrated with the UP e District portal.
To apply for any service citizens must register themselves first on the e-Sathi up portal. Citizens can also download the certificates online from their registered accounts.
e-sathi registration process
Registration process is given below. Please have a look.
Step 2: On the homepage, you will see a login form on the right side. Now click the “नवीन उपयोगकर्ता पंजीकरण?” link available above the login form. A new registration form will appear on the screen (as shown below).
Step 3: Now fill this registration form by providing all required information such as.
- User id
- Date of birth
- Pin code
- Mobile number
- Email id
After that enter the given security code and click the सुरक्षित करें button at the end of the registration form. Users will get an OTP on their registered mobile number which will be used for the login.
Now you have successfully registered on the portal.
e-Sathi login process
After the registration you can login on the portal to use available services. Login process is given below.
Step 1: Open the e-Sathi portal. On the right side, you will see a login form (as shown below).
Step 2:Enter your user id, password/OTP, security code, and click the Submit button. You have successfully logged in to the portal.
Note 1: if you registered the first time in the portal then enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number. After clicking the submit button, you will have to create a new password. Already registered users can use their password to log in.
Note 2: Sometimes people don’t receive the OTP on their mobile number. In this case, people can use the Forgot password option.
How to recover the e-sathi lost password?
Sometimes people forget their passwords. To help the users a password recovery option is also available on the portal. Check the below steps to recover your lost password.
Step 1: Open the official portal and click the forgot password link available below the login form.
Step 2: A new password reset page will appear on the screen (as shown below).
Step 3: On this page enter your user name, date of birth, and registered mobile number. After that click the “पासवर्ड रिसेट करें” button. Your password has been changed successfully and an OTP has been sent on the registered mobile number.
Step 4: After that you will have to login by using your OTP and create a new password.
Download eSathi mobile app
A mobile app is also available on the play store which includes all available services. Users can easily download the mobile app on their smartphone.
Step #1: Open the Google play store app on your smartphone.
Step #2: Now search esathi in the google play store. You will see some links after search.
Step #3: Click on the esathi NIC app link and install this in your mobile.
Step #4: After installing the mobile app you can open it and log in by using your user id and password. After the login, you may use all available services.

After opening the mobile app you will find a list of all available services. First of all, you will see a welcome screen (as shown below).

How to check application status?
Please follow the below steps to check application status.
Step 1: Open the app and click the Check status of application link.
Step 2: A new window will appear on the screen (as shown below).
Step 3: In the new search form enter your application number and click the Search button. Your application status will appear on the screen.
How to verify issued certificate?
If you want to verify your certificate which you have already received then you can do that through the mobile app. Please follow the below-given steps.
Step 1: Click the Certificate verification link.
Step 2: A new window will appear on the screen (as shown below).
You will get two option for certification verification.
- Using QR Code
- Using Application No. and Certificate ID
i-By using QR code: Click on the using QR code link and scan the QR code given on your certificate with the help of your mobile camera. After the scan, your certificate will be shown online including all details which you can easily check.
ii-By using Application no. and certificate id: Click this option and enter your application number and certificate number. After that click the Search button. Your certificate details will be shown online.

How to apply for any service through the mobile app?
To apply for any service please login on to the mobile app by using the “Sign in / Sign up for services” link. Click on this link and log in by using your user id and password. After the login, you will see a new dashboard screen (as shown below).
After the login you will see below-mentioned options on the dashboard.
- Apply – Use this to apply for any service online.
- Payment – After applying for any service use the Payment link to pay the required application fee online
- Change password – You can change your password by using this option.
- View application – You can view a list of your submitted applications.
- Download certificate – You can download your certificate online by using this option.
- Acknowledge slip copy
If you click on the Apply link then you will find a list of all departments (as shown below).
You can select any department on this page or you can click on the All services link to view all available services you can apply online. After that click on any service and apply online.
We are sharing the online application process to apply for a Domicile certificate. You can apply for any certificate or license by using this method.
How to apply for Domicile certificate through e-Sathi mobile app?
Please check the below-given steps to apply for a domicile certificate.
Step 1: Open the mobile app and login by using your user id and password.
Step 2: After the login, click the Apply link and again click the All services link. You will see a list of services available to apply online.
Step 3: After that click the Domicile certificate link. A new Domicile certificate application form will appear on the screen (as shown below).
Step 4: After that enter all required details in this application form as mentioned below.
- Applicant name
- Father’s/ Husband’s/ Guardian’s name
- Mother’s name
- Date of birth
- Mobile number, etc
Upload relevant document and click the Save button.
Step 5: After that, you can pay the required fee through the Payment link. After the Payment, your application has been submitted.
After the verification and approval government will issue a Domicile certificate which you can easily download by using the Download certificate link available in the app.

Most of the services which were available on the UP Online portal now can be accessed through the eDistrict portal of Uttar Pradesh. There is no need to visit the UP Online website and all citizens centric services are available now on this portal.

What is a domicile certificate?
A domicile certificate is a legal document that represents that a person is residing at a particular place. A domicile certificate is an important document that is required to apply for different government services and schemes. The district magistrate office is responsible to issue the Domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh. Domicile certificate issue date is available on the certificate. Domicile certificate is valid for a lifetime period.

An income certificate is a legal document that provides the total income a person is earning yearly. You can visit the Tehsildar office to get an income certificate. An Income certificate is valid till the end of the financial year when it issued.

Anyone can verify the cast, income, and domicile certificate through the Uttar Pradesh eDistrict portal. Steps to verify the certificates are given below. Please check.
Step#1: Open the official up online portal.
Step#2: On the homepage, you will see a link for Certificate Verification (प्रमाण पत्र का सत्यापन). Click on this link.
Step#3: A new certificate verification window will appear on the screen. Now enter your Application No. Certificate ID and click the Search icon. Your application status will appear on the screen.
