What is SBI Collect?
SBI Collect is a multi-model online payment solution developed by the State Bank of India where a user can pay the fee online safely to the corporate customer of SBI Bank by using different payment modes such as internet banking, credit card, UPI, Prepaid card, NEFT/RTGS, etc.
It’s a secure way of doing online fee payment and is specially adapted by educational institutions to collect online fees for different entrance exams, tuition fees, etc. Firms/ companies, Temples, and Charities are also using the SBI Collect to receive funds from the users for using their services.
Earlier educational institutions used to receive the required fees through cash amounts. In today’s time, everything is going online and all educational institutions are also accepting necessary payments in digital form.
Moving forward in this direction, the State Bank of India has started this SBI Collect service, which is very beneficial mainly for educational institutions because now students can pay any kind of university fee online by just sitting at home. There is no need to stand in line to deposit cash.

- Plug and Play collection model for Educational Institutions and small/medium merchants who do not have their web servers – facilitating collection of school fees, recruitment fees, membership fees of clubs/societies etc, donations (domestic), booking charges, or any other type of collections.
- Firms/Corporations/Institutions of repute having CINB-enabled accounts (SB or CA) with Vyapaar/Vistaar/Khata Plus/SARAL/Khata facility are eligible to avail of this facility.
- This is a universal collection system that enables payment through multiple channels such as SBI INB, Other Banks INB, Debit cards SBI & Other banks, Credit cards, Prepaid Cards, UPI, Rupay Debit Cards, NEFT/RTGS/, Cash/SBI Cheque at SBI Branches1.
How does SBI Collect Online Fee Payment work?
Anyone can complete the online fee payment process by using the below steps. We are sharing the process to make Sbi Collect fee payments to Dibrugarh University2 which is in Assam state.
Note: The Institutions must be registered members of the State Bank Collect to receive online payment.

Check if the Institute is registered or not
First of all, check whether the Institution is accepting the online payment through the SBI Collect or not. If the Institute is accepting the payment then proceed to the next step.

Open the SBI Collect portal
Open the new SBI Internet Banking website and click the SBI Collect link located in the top menu.
Alternatively, you may directly visit the SBI Collect link at https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm.

Accept the terms
You will see the SBI Collect homepage. Now read all terms, and Disclaimers, and select the Terms & Conditions check box located at the end of the page. After that click the Proceed button to initiate the payment.

Select the state and type of Institute / Corporate
On the next page, you will have to select the state where the Institute is located and the type of Institute from the below categories.

Select educational institution
On the next page, you will see a drop-down menu including a list of all educational institutions in that state. Now you will have to select your educational institute from this list.
After selecting the institution click the Submit button.

Select payment category
On the next page, You will have to select the payment category from the drop-down menu. Payment may be one of the below-given categories.
Admission fee
Admission fee under the waiver scheme
Course fee
Endowment fee
Hostel fee
Miscellaneous receipt -
Enter details related to payment
On the next page, You will have to provide payment-related details.
If you paying an online fee then enter student details such as Roll Number/ Registration number, student name, father’s name, Mobile number, email ID, select semester, etc.
A fee breakup will be shown including all types of fees.

Enter details to reprint your e-receipt / remittance(PAP) form
On the next screen, you will have to provide some more details which will help you to reprint your e-receipt online.
Please enter your Date of Birth, Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID. After that enter the given security code and click the Submit button.

Make online payment
After that, you will be redirected to the payment page where you can pay the required fee by using a credit card, internet banking, prepaid card, UPI, etc method.
Choose any one payment mode and pay the required fee. Your fee payment process has been completed now.
IHM Bangalore has also shared instructions for making fee payments through SBI Collect3. The payment process is similar to what we have shared above.
- Visit www.onlinesbi.com.
- Click the State Bank Collect option.
- Select the state Karnataka.
- Select the type of Corporate/Institution as Educational Institutions.
- Select the name as Inst of Hotel Management Bangalore.
- Select Payment Category – Respective year/semester.
- Enter your NCHM Roll No./JEE Roll No.
- Click the Submit button.
- Enter all require details and make payment.
How to check the SBI Collect Payment History and Download the e-receipt?
If you have made any online payment and want to check the status of your payment then please follow the below-given step.
- Open the official portal at https://www.onlinesbi.sbi/sbicollect/icollecthome.htm.
- Accept the terms and conditions and click the Proceed button.
- On the next page select Transaction History from the top menu. A new form will appear on the screen.
- There are two options to view transaction history.
- By OTP
- By SBCollect Reference Number starting with DU
- Select any one option.
- By OTP – Select the reference number/mobile number, enter that in the given space, and click the Send OTP link. Enter the OTP and click the Submit button.
- By SBCollect Reference Number starting with DU – Enter reference number. Select your mobile number or date of birth and enter that. Enter the captcha code and press the Submit button.
The transaction information will be available on the screen.
If the status shows PAID then the transaction was successful. You can also download the e-receipt by clicking the Print link under the Action column.
Note: Online receipt can be downloaded only if the payment status is PAID.

Instruction for transaction failure:
If you are making a payment and the money has been deducted from the account but you get a transaction failure message then you may contact us through the below-mentioned email IDs.

After submitting your complaint you will get a complaint ticket number. Note down this ticket number and again send an email to SBI customer care about the transaction failure and type your ticket number in the email also.

Frequently asked questions
How can I reprint my e-receipt?
e-receipts are available to reprint if somehow you have misplaced your receipt. Please follow the below steps.
i-Open the SBI Online website and visit the SBI Collect homepage.
ii-Click the Transaction History tab.
iii-Login to SBI Collect account by using OTP, or any other method.
iv-After login, view your payment history and download the e-receipt whichever you need.
v-After downloading is finished, you can take a print.
What different options are available to check the Payment History?
There are different login options available on the SBI Collect portal. You can use any one option and download Payment History online.
i-Login through OTP – Select the “By OTP” option and enter your Mobile number or reference number. Click the Submit button to receive the OTP. Enter the OTP to log in to your account.
ii-Login through Date Range – Select the “By Date Range” option. Select any date range and enter your mobile number and date of birth. Press the Submit button.
iii-Login through SBCollect Reference Number starting with DU – Select the “By SBCollect Reference Number starting with DU” option and enter your reference number for your transaction.
Again enter your mobile number or date of birth and captcha code and press the Submit button.
What is the SBI Collect reference number?
After making an online fee payment on the State Bank Collect portal, you will receive a Reference Number. The reference number will be sent on the email ID and Mobile number that you shared while making the online payment.
Please note down this reference number in a safe place. This reference number will be used to check the payment history and download your e-receipt.
What type of online payments we can make on the SBI Collect portal?
You will be able to make different types of payments as mentioned below.
-Payments for Services to Corporates, Government, and Public Sector Undertakings
-Payment of fees to educational institutions, hospitals, and municipal corporations
-Donations to charitable & religious institutions
-All Payments related to merchants, industry, and commercial services
-Local taxes like water tax, house tax, property tax
-Pay using Netbanking/Debit/Credit Prepaid Cards, UPI
Update (21 Sept 2023): State Bank of India shared a short video on their official X handle5. The video includes instructions for making payments through SB Collect. State Bank of India said, “Seamlessly make payments to corporations using SB Collect.”
Update: As reported by Divyansh from the careers360.com news portal, Recently IIT Ropar has released the hostel fee structure for the second semester of the academic year 2023-24. Students can pay the hostel and mess fee through SBI Collect or demand draft. Divyansh also shared step by step process to make payment through the SBI Collect portal6.
