By using this citizen-centric web portal, anyone in India can access mobile phone and SIM card-related digital services such as checking the total number of mobile connections issued on your name or checking the genuineness of your mobile phone[<\/sup>1<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sanchar Saathi portal was launched by Hon’ble Union Minister for Communications, Electronics & IT and Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw on May 16, 2023, through a live session at Railway Board Conference Hall[<\/sup>2<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup>. DoT India also reminded about this launch one day before i.e. May 15, 2023 through their X handle[<\/sup>3<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup> and again retweeted the same info on May 16 2023[<\/sup>4<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If your mobile phone has been stolen then you can report it on the Sanchar Saathi portal. You can also report if there is any SIM card issued in your name but you are not using that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n While launching the Sanchar Saathi portal[<\/sup>5<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup> on May 16, 2023, the Hon’ble MoC mentioned the three reforms that were also implemented along with Sanchar Saathi[<\/sup>6<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup>. Three reforms are mentioned below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It will Track and Block the lost or stolen phone anywhere in the country<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is a great way to help mobile phone users, SIM card subscribers, and citizens by providing the necessary awareness and securing their privacy and personal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sanchar Saathi portal consists of various important modules[<\/sup>8<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By providing digital services related to mobile phone and SIM card tracking, the Sanchar Saathi portal is fulfilling its objective to empower and assist mobile subscribers and citizens in India. The web portal is increasing awareness about the digital technologies offered by the Telecom Ministry, Government of India, and strengthing the security of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n PIB also shared through their X handle @PIBFactCheck[<\/sup>12<\/a><\/sup>]<\/sup>…<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Yes! Sanchar Saathi portal is part of @DoT_India<\/a>‘s initiative to empower mobile subscribers, strengthen their security & increase awareness about citizen centric initiatives of the Government.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sanchar Saathi is also developed in alignment with the digital India mission and working towards transforming India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. Due to the proper transparency, high-level efficiency, and a citizen-centric approach the portal is contributing to the overall objective of Digital India and also helping the mobile phone and SIM card industry.<\/p>\n\n\n CEIR<\/a> module is developed to provide mobile phone tracing service for lost or stolen mobiles. Mobile phone owners can report a lost or stolen phone on the portal and the phone will be blocked and can be tracked with the help of the IMEI number. Once you report your lost mobile, it cannot be used with any telecom network provider in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If someone uses the lost mobile phone then its traceability is generated and it can be easily found.
