Diploma Common Entrance Test DCET 2024 Notification: Submit Application Form before May 3, 2024

Karnataka Examination Authority is inviting applications for lateral entry into engineering courses in Karnataka. KEA will conduct the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) to manage the admission process for the late entry (2nd year) into engineering colleges.

DCET 2024 Notification

Karnataka Examinations Authority manages the Common Entrance Exams in the state. DCET is one of the CET exams which is specifically conducted for diploma holders including working professionals. If you have got a diploma and working in a company but want to pursue a higher education then this exam is a good choice for you.

Submit your online application and get admission directly in the 3rd semester of any engineering course.

As per the official exam dates, candidates can submit their applications until 3rd May 2024 and fee payment can be done until 6th May 2024. It is advised to candidates that they at least fill out the application form before 3rd May because they will get another 3 days to pay the required application fee.

Other information:

  • DCET will be conducted for the admissions in Engineering Colleges for the 2024-25 session.
  • Candidates will get lateral entry in the 2nd year of the engineering course.
  • For admission to the Architecture course, candidates should have appeared and qualified in NATA-2024 (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture.
  • Admission will be based on the availability of seats in the Engineering colleges.

Syllabus: The revised DCET syllabus issued by the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education is hosted on the KEA Website2. The syllabus is common to all Engineering Diploma Programmes. Candidates can download the syllabus PDF file through the direct link below.

DCET Exam Pattern:

As per the Syllabus document, the exam pattern is given below.

There will be a 3-hour question paper which will have a maximum of 100 marks. There will be five subjects we are sharing below and each subject will carry 20 marks.

How to submit the DCET 2024 Application?

The DCET 2024 application process has been made completely online by the Karnataka Examinations Authority. A Application-cum-Online Verification Module has been developed which will be used to receive all admission-related applications and to verify the candidate’s information3. No other mode of application submission will be accepted. Candidates can follow the below simple steps.

  1. Visit the official website http://kea.kar.nic.in.
  2. Click the Diploma CET 2024 link under the Admission menu.
  3. On the next page, click the Online Application link.
  4. Register a new account on the Application-cum-Online Verification Module.
  5. After registration, log in to your account.
  6. Fill out the application form.
  7. Upload all required documents.
  8. Make the required fee payment.
  9. Download your completed application form and the fee payment receipt.
