Cigna is introducing two-step authentication as a security feature for the Cigna for Health Care Professionals website (CignaforHCP.com). This enhancement offers an extra layer of security to help prevent the use of the website by unauthorized users and further protects the privacy of your patients with Cigna-administered coverage.
When Cigna providers login into their account for the first time, they will receive a security code on the registered email address. Providers have to enter this security code to get access to their accounts.
Please make sure that you have your email address updated in your account. If it is not updated then please login to your CignaforHCP.com account and click the drop-down menu under the user’s name > Settings & Preferences.
- During the login process, the provider can select “Remember this device” to avoid entering the security code every time you want to log in. After that two-step authentication will not be required for subsequent logins.
- After selecting the “Remember this device,” a cookie that identifies the device as an authorized device is placed in the browser.
- If somehow the user deletes the cookie then he will have to again authenticate the login through the two-step verification.
- Similarly if a user access CignaforHCP.com from a different web browser then also two-step verification will be required.
