What is TS Kalyana Laxmi scheme?

TS Kalyana Lakshmi scheme also known as Shaadi Mubarak has been started by the Telangana government to provide financial assistance to the poor families of Telangana state for the marriage of their daughters. The amount as set by the government will be given at the time of the marriage.

The scheme was started by Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao in 2014 with an aim to help the daughters of Telangana state for those families who are not able to afford the financial burden of the marriage expenses.

What is the amount of Kalyana Lakshmi?

All eligible families will get financial assistance as decided by the government at the time of the marriage of the daughter. This financial assistance amount can not be used for any other purpose. Currently, the Telangana government is providing ₹1,00,116 to all poor families. Before March 2018 government was providing ₹75,116 to all poor families which increased as the marriage expenses have also increased over time.

Budget allocated:

Finance Minister T Harish Rao said that they have proposed Rs.2,750 crore budget for the Kalyana Lakxmi/ Shadi Mubarak scheme for the 2021-2022 financial year. He said this during his speech on the Budget in the State Assembly. The budget has been increased by a lot margin as compared to the previous budget. Previously the government has allocated a ₹1450 crores budget for the 2018-19 financial year.

He said they are committed to providing the necessary relief to poor families and providing financial help at the time of marriage to meet the marriage expenses.

Eligibility:

• The scheme is applicable only for SC, ST, BC, EBC, and minority applicants
• The girl must be a resident of Telangana state
• The girl must be above 18 years of age
• The annual income of the Family (including both Mother and Father) must not exceed ₹2 lakh.
• The annual income of BC/EBC category applicants who belong to Rural must not exceed ₹1,50,000/-

Step 1: Open the official website at telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in/KalyanaLakshmiLinks.jsp.

Step 2: You will see the official website homepage including some options related to the scheme. You will have to click on the Print/Status link there.

Step 3: After clicking the Status link a new status check page will appear on the screen (as shown below).

Step 4: On this status check page, you will have to enter the Bride’s Aadhar Card number and mobile number which you have provided at the time of the registration.

Step 5: After entering the Aadhar number and mobile number click the Get Status and Print button. The application status will be available on the screen and you will get the information if your application has been accepted or rejected by the government.
